John M. Churchill is a pianist, composer, philosopher, and educator. He composes and performs in such a way to evoke the wide scope of human emotion. Using the melody as his voice and harmony as the landscape, each piece is meant to create an ever unfolding metaphor. Fascinated by the relationship between music and narrative, John’s music has evolved to leave listeners feeling as though each piece is a story in which they are a part of. His research explores the intersection of music, Being, and the meaning that emerges.
As an educator, John is devoted to mentoring students on how to hone their attention. Being a high-functioning autistic with ADHD and dyspraxia, John has a unique window into learning differences and the importance of our attention when learning an embodied skill. . His method is called Self Imitation Through Imaginative Projection.
